INTRIGUE IN CANADA. LEAGUES 'WITH A -CULTURAL" .MISSION. (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) Received Sept. 10, fi.4o p.m. i London, Sept. 9. The Times' correspondent at Toronto says that a formidable political organisation of Germans has been discovered in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Leagues were formed in 1913 as a protest against loyalty, but they now explain that they have a cultural mission to fulfil, which must maintain the German language in Canada. SECRET SOCIALIST MEETING. CHEATING A PEACE LEVER. (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) Received Sept. 10, C.iO p.m. London, Sept. 9. The Times' correspondent "at Paris reports that a secret Socialist meeting is being held at Berne with a view to continuing the international movement among Socialists in Europe. French Socialists refused to participate, lmt two militant French syndicalists are attending. It is undoubted that the German subterranean agencies are working among neutral Socialist opinion with the object of creating another lever for a peace propaganda. REDUCE FLESH WITH SEA LEAVES Any man or woman who is troubled with a burden of excessive Jat can easily reduce to any desired amount by following the simple, harmless plan of eating sea leaves obtained from plants growing in the sea off the coast of France. Natives of tiiis part of the coast readily get the plant itself, but for the convenience of those not so fortunately situated, most chemists keep them in compressed or tablet form under the chemical name flf salith leaves, and if taken according to the simple directions that accompany them, will invariably reduce flesh at the rate of two or three pounds a week, and at the same time greatly improve the general health. It is interesting to note that when salith leaves are used the skin remains firm without any tendency to become flaMjy or wrinkled.
