HAWERA CO.-OP DAIRY FACTOIIY COMPANY. (From Our Own Correspondent). Hawera, September 4. The annual meeting of tlie Hawera Co-operative Dairy Factory Co., Ltd., was held in the Winter Show buildings at Hawera, on Saturday. Mr. 11. Spratt occupied the chair. There was a good attendance of shareholders, and considerable interest was shown in the proceedings. The balance sheet was taken as read, and afterwards adopted. » The chai'man in moving its adoption, referred to the amount that had been paid out for dieese. So far Is 5d had had been paid, and another one penny would be available. The balance of of the dieese not yet disposed of has been valued at 745, so that he was confident that the total payout would be h 7d. Mr. Hurley asked the chairman if the amount paid for cartage eould not be reduced by going in for a motor. Mr. Spratt explained that the directors had already gone into the matter, but it would entail the purchase of two motors.

There is a balance in appropriation account of £10,014.
Out of the balance in hand it is intended to 'pay interest at the rate of 6 per cent (£010) to shareholders. 2d per lb on spring butter fat ( C7.">3|. 3d per lb on autumn lmtter fat (£150), and a further Id over the cheese season, ( £44!X>). These amounts to l>e available after meeting. The balance will be held until such time as the produce reaches London. The following were elected to fill the four vacancies on the directorate: Messrs. Knvanagh. Spratt, Carryan, and Dunlop. Mr. I.emon was reelected auditor at the remuneration of £K) 10s.' The directors were voted a fee of 15s per meeting, and the chairman an honorarium of £IOO. The question of a testing association was left for the consideration of the directors. The notice of motion by Messrs. I'earee anil I'arkla, to stop voting Jiv proxy, was lost by a largo majority, the voting being 2(11 to 197. At a subsequent meeting of directors Mr. 11. Spratt was re-elected chairman. At a subsequent meeting of directors it was decided to consign the season's output through Messrs Lane and Ce. ARARATA DAIRY COMPANY. The Ararata Dairy Company decided on Saturday to consign its output through Messrs Lane and Co. XOTES, This morning the South Taranaki Winter Show purchased a property of a little more than liali an acre adjoining their present buildings. This section belonged to Mr. W. S. Lockhart, and will materially improve the position of the show, which has been very 'hampered in the past for want of sufficient space." Very Rev. Dean Power went to Mastertdh on Friday morning where lie is to' preach' the occasional sermon on Sunday, upon the raising of. Dean McKenna to the position of Monsignor.
