ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hastings, Yesterday. Whilst motor cycling along the Ocean Beach Boad yesterday, Stanley Robert Pitt, _ son of' Thomas Pitt, of Bcnom, Hastings, went over a cutting. He struck a tree and was rendered unconscious and precipitated into the Maraetotara River, where his body was found some time later. This is the third son of Mr. Pitt lost during the last two years. One was killed in the landing at the Dardanelles. DEATH DURING OPERATION. Dunedin, Yesterday. Florence Hurndell, aged 18, died suddenly at Palmerston on Saturday while undergoing an operation for septic throat.
