Received August 29, 2.19 p.m. Fans, August 28. German inspired statements in the neutral press state that French shellgas has blinded many German troops. This is officially denied, as such gas is not employed and it is pointed out that the allegation may be the prelude to t. fresh inhuman German device, EFFECTIVE BOMBARDMENT. Received August 30, 12.43 a.m. Paris, August 29. A communique says: The German trenches in the districts of Nieuport, Hetsas, and the Esist&kax-Lille road northward of Arras were effectively bombarded. .
