TYPHOON AT SHANGHAI.

(MANY PEOPLE KILLED. By Oable—Press Association—Copyright, Brisbane, August 27. The steamer Eastern, from China, brought news of a typhoon at Shanghai. Over a hundred persons were killed and two hundred injured. Mu.it damage was done to shipping, and two or three vessels were blown ashore. There were floods at Wuchow, and houses and crops were destroyed. Three-quarters of the city is submerged and thousands axe homeless.
