».'. Averill, Bishop c f Auckland, ivill visit St. Mary's bulb show tins evening. Mr. H. Trimble was yesterday reelected chairman of the Taranaki liilucation Board. At yesterday'* meeting of the' Tura■nnki Education Board the chairman (Mr. H. Trimble) was appointed the Board's representative on tlie Board of Governors of the New Plymouth High School. At yesterday's meeting of the Tar*naki Education Board it'was decided to place on record the Board's appreciation of the good services rendered by Mr. J. Young while a member of the Board. Mr. John Oomielt, of Bell Blc%k, !<*• ing the only person nominated for the vacancy on the Taranaki County Council canned by the resignation of Mr. J. B. flUl, has been declared duly elected, The Eov. A. B. Chappell, the ntwly elected member of the Taranaki Education Board, was welcomed to the Board at yesterday's meeting. Mr. Chappell suitably replied, expressing the hope that he would be of service to the Board. Sistev Grace Sisley, formerly on the stlaff of the New Plymouth Hospital, b now on the staff of the New Zealand Auxiliary Hospital at Waltoa-on-Thames. Miss Standlsh, of New Plymouth, is on the staff of the same hospital. A Tjondon newspaper just to hud reports that Captain Lascclles, of Xew Zealand, who fought through tho South African war and was wounded at tho Dardanelles, has recovorod, and has boen appointed to General Sir-lan Hamilton^
