NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. The semi-finals of the ladies championship of the New Plymouth Club were played yesterday afternoon, and resulted:— Mrs. Johns beat Miss Blundell, 1 up at the nineteenth hole. Miss Brewster beat Miss Free, 5 up and 4. The semi-finals of the junior championship were also played, and resulted:Mrs. Flower beat Mrs. Davies, 5 up and I!. Mrs. Walker beat Mrs. McQuade, 3 up and 2. The finals will be played to-morrow. A motor 'bus will leave town for the links at noon, returning about 3 o'clock. WITIORA CLUB. A junior championship for members with a handicap of 17 and over will be held, to be played next Saturday (August 2S) and Thursday (September 2), Entries close for Saturday players on Saturday morning, and for Thursday players on Thursday morning. Locke, the profes; !.-ri;\l, will be here for another week, and p'.iyi;'.'! 'wishing to take lessons may- see the book at Mr. A. S. Hasell's. The draw i'et' the first round of the ladies' championship is'as-follows: —Miss K. Bennett plays Miss E. Johnson, Mis 9 0. Arobury plays Miss Hawke, Mrs Dell plays Miss Furlong. Byes: Misses Goldwater, Lewis, E. Gilbert and Krmdle. The first and second rounds are to bo played this week. Last week the first round of the aggrogate match was played.
