Yesterday lie roceived a cablegram stating that the W.>: Ollice was grateful for the generous ofl'er to supply machine-guns, hut ail mailable are required for distribution to the troops. It equally regretted that it cou'd not make a special allotment to the Si'w Zealand troops. Mr. Ailen stated that he knew the V. ar Ollice was securing.all the machineguns it could manufacture or buy and was distributing them to the troops in the various theatres of war in ewes, of the normal establishment.
