AN UNIDENTIFIED HERO. MAORILANDER'S WONDERFUL BRAVERY. Received August 20, 2.10 p.m. London, August 20. The Central News correspondent at the Dardanelles, writing on August Ist, gives the story of a New Zealander's pluck that is without precedent. During an advance he found himself wounded and isolated on a high promontory. The Turks were advancing in full force, wihcn the wounded man rose up and .commenced to signal, giving valuable information of the enemy's strength. Twice he was shot, and -this interrupted the message. A sixth shot disabled his arm, hut after an interval he raised himself, wared the completion of the message, and fell dead. "There hare been hundreds of instances of wonderful courage," said the officer, "but that caps all." The utmost inquiries failed to identify tie hwiji ---■*-• ■ ■X,
