A farewell was tendered by the 'New Plymouth Association Football' Club to two of its members, Messrs H. C. G!cndinning and S. Olliver, who are leaving on Monday to join the Eighth Keinforc'eiuents. The gathering was held in the club-room in Devon street, aibout thirty- people being present, and a most enjoyable time was spent. He volunteered for service with the 4th Reinforcements- and was given a commission in the Wellington Battalion. Ho leaves a young wife, who is residing- at present in Christohurch. Mr. C. Skitrop, late, borough engineer, was presented yesterdav with a bandsome silver-mounted wallet by tl.ie Members of the borough office staff, as a small token of appreciation of. his unfailing courtesy to the staff s-ince his connection with the borough. Mr, Skitrop, in thanking the donors, mentioned' the happy relations which had ahvavs existed between the staff and himself. Mr. M. Fleming was yesterday elected chairman of the Cape Egmont Dairy Companv, for the nineteenth successive year. He lias been chairman since the inauguration of the company.
