DISTRICT NEWS.
KORU. (iFrem Ouv Own Correspondent). It is not very long ago that I remarked that we did not have.ma.ny changes here, but since then wo have had several . Mr. A. Looney has exchanged his farm and left us, and now Mr. Wilfred Mace has sold out and bought another farm at Omata, whither he moves shortly. He is to be tendered a farewell social in the hall on the iJit'h, when we hope for % line night and n jolly time. Mr. T. Smart has also sold out and is shifting to Oakiira. Cows are coming in fast now, and we hope to see the factory in full swing shortly.
Mr, MeAuley is back amongst us after about two months' sojourn in Oainaru, and looks hale and hearty after hVs holiday. The new county engineer has been waging war on the furze along the road, and the consequence is that those of us who have a little along our road lines have received notice to clear it off. The result is an improvement to the road. Wo also have a new surfaceinaji, Mr. G. Meredith having resigned and Mr. J. Mag-rath appointed. Although we lost a good man, I think there will lie very few who will .be able to find fault with the new one.
