TEACHERS' SUPERANNUATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, August 17. At a meeting of the Teachers' Superannuation Board to-day refunds of aontributions were granted to contributors on voluntary retirement from the service to the extent of £1045. A further refund of £672, representing the contributions of fourteen deceased contributors, ten of whom were killed at the Dardanelles, was approved for payment. Retiring allowances amounting to £OO3 were granted to nine members retiring from the service. Allowances amounting to £lll were made to three widows and three children of deceased contributors. DISOBEDIENT FIREMAN. Wellington, August 17. Carl Hedlum, a fireman on the Makarini, was fined £2O, or in default 14 days' imprisonment, for disobeying orders at sea. He was also sentenced to two months' imprisonment for cargobroaching at Napier.
