WOMEN CALLING. SOLDIER'S TERRIBLE STORY. From Miss Masie Fox, of Maguey street, Wooilohra, the Premier of New South Wales has received a letter which her brother wrote to his mother before being killed in action. He writes:— "The awful sight we have seen. We will never forget. Old men, old wome:!, young women, bairies in arms, and toddlers a few years old simply murdered. To-night I have just helped to bury a young woman who lay in the corner of the old barn we are using for a oathroom. She lay covered with a greatcoat one of our chaps had put over her. When I picked up the coat I was nearer fainting than when the bullet took mv ■helmet oft' at . Mother, she wa's the picture of our sister. Her hair was all tumbled loose. Her fingers had been cut off to get her rings. One lireaat was cut off. She must have died an awful death. I sat down and howled like a kid. We had seen men and women of all nations lying dead. But vvlion we found an Englishwoman it was too much for us. I feel I shall not come home again, Ido not know why. Perhaps it is on account of that girl we buried. Mother, tell all the bids if they do not want to fight for their Kin» there are women and children caliinc them." °
