PARCELS FOR THE FRONT.
XOW SEXT VIA SUEZ. Up till a few days ago all parcels for men at the front in Gallipoli, Egypt, or Malta had to be sent via London as we had no parcel post arrangements with the companies whose vessels traversed the Sura Tana), This lias now been rectified by a new arrangement having been made with the steamship companies concerned who will now take parcels from New Zealand via, Colombo each week, at a slight increase in the rates. The ordinary parcel post rates to Egypt are as follow:
Via London.—Parcels not exceedin" 311.. l 9 8d; 7tb, 3s Id; 111b, 4s Gd. Via Colombo.—Parcels not exceeding 31b, 2s 8d; 71'b. 4s 4d; 111b. 6s. Arrangements have been made to send parcels to members of the Expeditionary Force (via London) at the following rates:-,",!),. 1*: 71b, 2s; 111b, 3s. And from July 2-2 the public have been able to send parcels to members of our forces (via Colombo) at the following rates:—3lb, Is ]i/,d; 71b, 2s 7'/,d- 111b ■4s ]'/„<].
(Parcels sent via London leave bv every direct steamer, and arrive iii E;'yj)t in about 54 days. Those that are dispatched via. Colombo (weeklv) reach Egypt in 34 days.
