The Italians 'bombarded the BorgoLevico railway, destroying fifteen kilometres, and set fire to a train carrying troops to Rovereto. Five hundred Austriaus perished. The Austriaus then tried to get munitions through by a junction line, but Italian gunners blew up eight wagons. After eight successive attacks the Italians captured several kilometres of the Austrian trenches at Polozzo. The bombardment of tlodz .continues, and the. A communique records that an Italian attack on Monte Crose was repulsed with great slaughter, and the enemy retreated, partially in flight, to the woods south of the border stream. In order to relieve the retrcaters the Italians attempted a surprise attack on the Kofel position, but were repulsed.
