YESTERDAY'S CONFERENCES, NOTHING DISCLOSED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ■Wellington, Last Night. . A conference was held at the Govern* ment House this afternoon, at tho invitation of his Excellency the Governor, for the ipurpo.se of discussing the WOB- - of the formation of a National Cabinet. The Government was represented by the Hons. W. F. Massey, J. Allen, W. H. Herries and A. L. Herdman, and the Opposition, by Sir Joseph Ward and Messrs. O. W. Russell and A. M. Mvera, and the Hon. Dr. MeXab. The conference lasted two hours, and on returning to the Parliament Buildings Mr. Massev announced that he Jiad no statement to rnak<j regarding the proceedings. Sir Josciph Ward gave a similar reply.

Mr. Masaey still (leal.ned to any anything definite concerning the proceedings at to-day's conference, further than that negotiations, m, far as they have gone, would liane tb be referred to tho rank and file of the parties, He understood that the Opposition caucus will meet to-mor-row, but no arrangements have yet been made for a Government caucus. If. a National Cabinet is formed, adjournments of the Hbuse will be nece&sarv to enable the new Government to formulate a policy. The House will meet to-mor-row as usual but the Financial Statement will not be brought down, and probably not for a week. Mr. Massey explained l that the negotiations were of so delicate a character that they cannot be concluded in a day, and perhaps may not ba 1 finished for several <lsys. ' ,
