Uceived Aug. 1, 3.50 p.m. Pretoria, July .'il, Official: The surrender of the Ucrmans in Damaraland is completed, and the entire force is accounted for, except a handful of rebels from the Union. Crowds lined the streets, and ten thousand people gave an ovation to (ieneral Botha at a meeting' in the amphitheatre of the Union Building. Forty municipalities and public foodies and several native tribes presented addresses. General Botha, replying, referred to the fertility of the conquered territory. He intended that tens of thousands of the Union's young people shall be settled on the land there. Railways already existed, and he. could proceed with the settling immediately. FORCE FOR EUROPE. A STREAM OF APPLICATIONS. Received July :!I, 5.5 p.m. , Johannesburg, July 30. Applications for the expeditionary force are steadily coming in from all parts. WATER POISONING.
