■ QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Taranaki .Methodist Ministerial Council waa held yesterday, at Igglewood. There wtete' present: Revs. A. B. Chappetl, M.A.'(president), ft H. Olds, B;A. (sere tary)), T. G. Hammond, J. W. Green, A. Reader, E 0. Blamires, H. White, A. O. Harris, C. Blair, W. 8. Neal, and Messrs J. R, Kelson and A. Smart. Routine business was transacted, (n addition two papers were read, one by the Rev. H. White upon "Our Provincial Problem" (in which the relation of the dairy industry to religious observances was treated), and the other by the Rev. E, 0. Blamires on "Prophecy, with special reference to the Second Coming of Christ." Both papers evoked good discussion. In the evening the Rev. T. G. Hammond delivered' to a. public gathering a mucli-ipprcciated lecture on "The Mini of the Maori.'! . The Revs. A. B. Chappel! and C. H. Olds assisted with the • programme.
