In tin- representative football match fur the benefit of the Wounded .Soldiers' Fund, .Southland defeated Otago by l.j points (three converted tries) to nil. The attendance was a record for mutches between these provinces. An ideal day favored the contest. The I'ughy Union last night decided to postpone all matched arranged for to-day, on account of the unfavorable state of the grounds.
