ENTERTAINMENTS.
"THE PARISH PRIEST." There was only a fair attendance at the. Theatre Royal last night when Mr. Allen Doone presented the Irish domestic drama of "The Parish Priest," and a very enjoyable play it proved. The mainstay of the piece was, of course, Mr. Allen Doone, who filled the title ■rolc_ with great success, his acting and singing again meeting with pronounced manifestations of approval. His rendering of the song "An Old-Fashioned Mother" Was an exceptionally meritorious effort, and well deserved the encore to which the artist acceded. The humorous element was provided by Mr. Tom Buckley, who, as the doctor's man of affairs, kept the house -in merriment. Miss Edna Keeley (the priest's ward) also contributed greatly to the enjoy-, ment of those present,' and the other members of the company capably filled their respect : ve parts.
