Mrs. Howell (Xew Plymouth) yesterday received word by wire, stating that her son, Private Xonnan Howell, C now in England, and is convalescent. The death of Mrs. E. J. Armstrong, of Palmcrston, says the Standard, removes a link with the historic past. Her father was the late Captain Walker, R.X., of Stoke, Devon. lie was one of Nelson's midshipmen on the Victory, and in that ollice acted as aide de camp to England's great sailor. 'Messrs. T. E. y.
