HCTRANTU.

Tlie second meeting called to elect a school committee was -held on Monday evening. Mr. F. V. Andrews was voted to the dhair, and submittal a report showing that the schoolgrounds had been fenced with six wires and new posts. A horse paddock had also been fenced off. The year started with a credit of £3 7s Id and ended, with 14s 7d to credit. During the year the, school was destroyed by fire and replaced by one built on modern lines. The average attendance has been most satisfactory, the quarter's capitation grant 'being £1 7s (kl. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs F. Y. Andrews (chairman), P. M. E. Surrey (treasurer), F. Loveridgc, S. Sarten and 0. J, Herrick. ■>lr. S. Tui'iibull has left the district for Auckland and Mr. H. Ileppell 'has taken possession of "l'erton." Mr. .1. T.
