SUGGESTED CONFERENCE AT 1 WELLINGTON. f His Worship the Mayor, (Mr. J. E. W* son, received the following telegram' from Wellington last evening:— At the. request of the Wellington Pa* triotio Society, the Mayor of Wellington has pleasure in inviting the mayoid and chairmen of all the local bodies an<J representatives of patriotic socictieg throughout trie district from WcllingtoJ to New Plymouth on the west and pier on the east to meet him in con"fcrence at the Town Hall, Wellington, ofll. Friday, duly 2, at 2.30 p.m., for the puf" pose of considering a proposal to fedeif-" ate the various' patriotic societies and! funds, to agree upon a, uniform systeffi Of relief and, in general, to devise waytl and means of economical and efficient administration of patriotici funds; also 1 to nominate trustees and an executive controlling the funds of the whole district. Mr John Findlay and Mr. C. P< Skcrrett, K.'C's., will be present to advise the conference on all legal matters.
