The 'wheat and flour afloat for t'he United Kingdom is 3,080,000 quarters, for tho Continent 2,740,000 quarters, Atlantic shipments 528,000 quarters, Pacific nil. : The total to Europe is 1,030,000 quarters, including India 1t59,000 quarters and Argentina 2®,000 quarters.

Mutton.—The market is firm, and \ ■prices continue to advance. There is a I fair demand, despite the higher prices, j Canterbury 7y t d for best quality light I weight, heavy weight 7d; Nortili Island) 7%d for light 'weight, ordinary quality 7d; ewes <3%d. I Lamb.—The market is quiet, and ! there is no alteration in prices for light [ weight; second grade 8 lilfld. J ißeef. —There is a very limited supply J of Now Zealand beef available at nom- ] inal quotations. Hinds Bd, fores 7d; J chilled hinda B%d, fores 7%d. J
, (Butter.—The market is firm. Danish | 1469 to J49s, New Zealand l*H>s to 148s j and up to 1445, Australian 13Cs to 140s, | Siberian 130s to 1325, Irish creamery 138s to 138s, Argentine MOs to 138s. Cheese.—The market is quiet, and prices declined further for colonial and United States dheese. About the 'beginning of the week prices declined sharply, (but the market closed firmer and the price of New Zealand advanced Is to 2s since the day before yesterday. Canadian is quiet; white 92s to ; colored DOS to 925; New Zealand, improved demand; white 92a to 945, colored 90s to 03s. United States, fair demand; white sos to 02a, colored 88s to 90s, according to quality and size. ■Hemp.—Steady, tout the demand is only moderate. New Zealand good fair grade £32 10s, fair £3O 10s; fair current Manila, £3B 10s; forward shipment of Now Zealand, good fair £3l ss, fair £B9 10s; Manila, £3B. The output from Manila for the week was 24,000 bales. It is impossible to forecast the a prospects for" hemp, hut little change is anticipated in values for some time. ■Wheat.—'During last week the market has been active, but now it is somewhat steadier. Canadian iAipril-June shipment Sis per quarter, American | July-August 445. Argentine not quoted. Oats. —The market is quiet and small [ business is doing. Argentine June-July shipment 26s per quarter. Hops.—The market is firmer, with an increasing demand for better grades. English AOs to 115s, Californian 75s to 105s. Wool.—The market is strong, and prices for fine wools advanced sharply.
