"THE CHAPEKOX." ''The Ciaperon" proved even move popular in Australia than its merry predecctjsor, and Xcvv Plymouth will doubtless find it to its taste. Jt deals with the adventures of a "kmit," Hilary Chester (Torn iShelford), and .Rosamond Caythorne, (Ethel Dane). The lady dines with Christopher l'ottinger, LM.P. (Frank liradley), with the knut noting as professional cha.peron. Chester is introduced 'byi Puttinger to his sister-in-law its Wellington Jones, .lust what occurs after this it would lie a pity to tell. Sult'ice it to say that a suffragette, a thunderstorm, and a hvokendown motor-ear, contribute to an extraordinarily comical set of circumstances. Miss Dane's part in "The Chaperon" is a 'big- one, and will afford local playgoers an opportunity of seeing her in one of her most important. London roles. It is a dressy part, and her first-act gown in particular is said to 1m; a revelation in stage frocking. The box plan for the performance at the Theatre Royal on Thursday is at Collier's.
