ENTERTAINMENTS.
HUGARD. The well-known conjuror llugard occupied the boards at the Theatre Royal last evening, and attracted a fair 'attendance. The entertainment provided by this sleight-of-hand expert is always appreciated, and that given last levelling proved no exception, nearly every item being heartily applauded. The great rifle act was the feature of the evening, everyone being completely mystified b\; the entertainer's apparent invulnerability. Another popular item was the production of the flags of the various nations, produced from 'behind a screen. Those of Germany, Austria, and Turkey were vigorously hissed, and those (if the Allies, particularly Belgium, heartily applauded. The sword levitation trick was a good one, and Hugard as a "fire-eater" created great amusement. The dog Sport proved a clever animal, his numerous tricks being much appreciated. The xylophone solos contributed 'by Miss Myra Errington were very tuneful and well executed, While tho song "Belgium put the Kybosh on the Kaiser," rendered by Miss Millie Clair, was encored.
