KILLED BY TRAM.
A FATALITY AT WELLINGTON
By Telegraph.—Press Association. I Wellington, Last Night. I Ellis Loftman, a widower aged 53, an employee of the Union .Steamship Com-1 pany, was killed instantly this evening in upper Willis Street. He was apparently bound for his home near Aro Street, and was seen talking to a man about C o'clock. Then Loftman seems to have moved off to catch an up-bound ear, not noticing another approaching rapidly from the opposite direction, which was on the down grade. This car struck and threw him against tha kerb. His injuries were so severe as to cause death at once.
