THE CONCLUDING SCENES.

GENERAL ATTENDANCE GOOD.

On Saturday morning tho weather was unfavorable, heavy rain falling, and its a result the, attendance at the Winter Show at New Plymouth suffered considerably, in the evening, howovcr, the building was packed, and it was only with considerable inconvenience that it was possible to move about. The cash takings for tho day were about £4O less than on tho Saturday of last your. On tho whole show there was a- shrinkage of £7O in the cash taken at the doors, but against this it must be rcmombered that over £75 worth of members' tickets were sold, and freely availed of, so that the attendance on the whole was considerably larger. On Saturday everyone appeared to do good business; the tea robins, which were admirably conducted at a reasonable charge by Mr. Wooller and a large staff, (jero kopt very busy. In the evening Messrs C. Fairbrother and L. A. Nolan wcro kept busy selling goods donated In aid of the patriotic funds, which should benefit individually thereby. The Citizens' Band played a number of selections insido the hall in first-class style. Right through the strenuous week's work attached to the show, Mr. Humphries,* the secretary, paid strict attention to)evcry detail, and was courteous to all enquiries, which were of a varied nature. Mr. Monthy, one of the stall holders, handed the secretary 275, being commission on the sale of Dardanelles badges, whilst another stall holder, Mr. Johnson, handed over ss, commission on the sale of the Kaiser's will, both for donation to the patriotic funds. The raffles were drawn in the evening, resulting as follows: Nugget, Mr. A. Morton (Egmont Village) 1, A. R. Matthews i, Mrs. L. A. Nolan 3; H. McWhetter (care of Sole Bros.) 1, E. F. Clarke 2; cushion, Mrs. Hulke 1.
