a shooting Natality. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Whangarei, June 5. A shooting fatality occurred yesterday, at Mangapai. Thomas Fleming, aged 13,' of Whangarei, shot a cat, and then proceeded to pick up the animal, leaving liis doublc-barellefi gun on a bank of: earth. The gun retained one charge. Daceased bent down to pick up the gua, when it discharged and the shot struck Fleming in the neck, killing him instant* ly. It is supposed a twig or other obstruction on the bank caught the hammer or the trigger. His sister witnessed the tragedy. A brother is at the front. FATALITY AT IOWGARTH. - A young man nioied Walter Moore, single, aged 23 years, who resided it a wharo on tlio property of his brother-in-law, Mr. A. F. Burke, at Upper Hint" tor Road, Lowgarth, was found fact downward in a creek an front of hi# whare on Friday morning. He had been auissed during the morning, an# on a search being instituted he Wig found by his brother-in-law in the posfr tion before indicated. There was only six inches of water in the creek. Deceased was subject to fits, and it is surmised that he was in this condition when ho fell into the creek.
