NEW PLYMOUTH v. lIAWEKA. An inter-club match was played between the ITawera and New Plymouth fJlubs at Hawera yesterday. Tho ITawera Club entertained the visitors most hospitably, and an enjoyable day's play took place. In the morning pairs matches were played, when Hawera were defeated by six games to three. In the afternoon singles were played, New Plymouth winning ten games, Hawera nine, one being halved. The details are as follow (New Plymouth players being mentioned first): —

Wood and Suisted, all square. TARAIIUA v. WAITAIIA. Fine weather favored golf enthusiasts yesterday, and some pleasant games resulted. The Tarahua Club played against Waitara. In the morning a best ball gamp was played, resulting as follows (the Tarahua representative being mentioned first in each case):' — Cannell and Morey lost to Smaill and W. Sampson, 2 down. P. Gray and G. Gray lost to Pulford and C. Sampson, 3 up and 1 to play. Kenncr and Carter beat Mrs. Were and Johns, 4 up and 3 to play. Perry and Chong beat Dewhirst and Passau, 1 up. Moore and Bcrridge beat Wylie and Were, all square. Singles were played in the afternoon, when the results were as follow (the Tarahua players being again mentioned iirst in each instance): — G. Chong beat Passau, 7 up and 5 to play. P. Gray beat Pulford, 3 up and 1. G. Gray beat C. Sampson, 3 up and 1. N. Perry beat AVylie, 6 up and 5. Cannell lost to Dewhirst, 6 up and 5. W.
