A MOTORIST SENTENCED.
SEVEN YEARS' HARD LASQR,
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, La3t Night. Louis 'Fosbcnder, a farmer, convicted of the manslaughter of William Jackson, was sentenced to seven years' hard labor. Mr. Justice Sims remarked that the crime was punishable by imprisonment for life, and there were no extenuating circumstances. Counsel stated that prisoner had pjiid £IOOO compensation and £75 costs to Jackson's widow.
(Fosbcnder was in charge of a motorcar, which -collided with a spring cart, the driver of which was Jackson, who died.)
