BEEKEEPERS' CONFERENCE.
YESTERDAY'S SITTING. Wellington, Last Night. The -Beekeepers' Conference adopted the following resolution:—(l) That this" association urges that the registration of apiaries be brought into force at the earliest possible moment; (2) that honey be carried on the railways at the same' rates as butter; (3) that the Bluff be gazetted as a, grading depot. A deputation is to wait on the Minister for Railways in connection with the second resolution. The incoming executive was recommended to seek information from the National Beekeepers' Association of America regarding its legal defence fund and to report on the scheme to the next, conference, nnd that in the meantime the executive be empowered to take siu-h steps as it considered- necessary in the event of any case arising. Mr. H. W. Gilling read a paper on "Co-operation Selling," and "Mr.' F. A. .Tacohsen, Government Grader, gave a demonstration of grading. Tn the evening the conference discussed methods of keeping colonies strong and the sizes of hives that would yield the best results.
