CONSENT TO MARRIAGE.
AN UNUSUAL CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ' 1 Wellington, Last Night. An unusual application w|s made at the. Supreme Court to day, when a yoong laily of eighteen, ivho is engaged to be married to a soldier in camp at Trentham, asked Jlr. Justice Chapman to authorise the marriage, as she could not get the consent of her parents, who are inmates of mental hospitals. The Marriage Act provides in such cases that application may ho made to the Supreme Court to declare the proposed marriage n proper one. In granting the request, his Honor remarked that the young lady appeared quite capable of looking after herself and of making the right choice.
