THE ASSOCIATION GAME. ANNUAL AIEETING OF ASSOCIATION. AYellington, May 28. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Football Association was held tonight, Mr. W. Monckton (Taranaki) presiding. There were also present: Messrs 0. J. AYard (Canterbury). J. F. Atkins (Otago), R. Y. AYalls '(Wellington), J. McCroric, (Wellington), C. E. Fordham (O'lago), R. Hutchesan (Akirlborough), 'l. McLaren (Auckland), H. AlcKeowcn (Hav.kc's Bay), B. L. Salmon (Soutlila.'id), and J. Gilbert (Duller). Tlie chairman congratulated the officers en the sound position of the association. In view of the unsettled state of tin 1 world, it was pre-bable that a policy of marking time would have to be adopted for a while. It was a patriotic action of the association to assist to equip the soldiers going away by the presentation of an ammunition wagon to the defence authorities. lie commended the idea of compiling a roll of honor embodying the names of "Soccer" players who have gone to the front. A letter was received from the Auckland Football Association, complaining of the action of the Auckland Y.M.C..V in forming a league composed of fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade players. The A'.M.C.A. appliul to the Auckland Association for aniliation, which was re- , fused in accordance with the rules. The ! Auckland delegate (Mr. McLaren) sai 1 j that a dual in the snnic district could | not ba tolerated, ami moved that the action of the northern body be endorsed. The secretary waji instructed to write to Auckland and get details of all alleged trouble among junior players last season, and decisiun on the matter was postponed. , As Canterbury was the only assoeia-1 tion in favor of holding Brown Shield matches this year, it. was decided that none should l;e played. - j THE RUGBY GAME. The members of the coastal team assembled ready to take the field and were considerably disappointed at the, postponement of the match, as also were a goodly number of would-be spectators. some of whom had driven eight or nine miles to witness the match. The gross proceeds of the match were to have been devoted to the Belgian Relief Fund.
