On the Sea.
MORE STEAMERS SUNK. Received May 30, 11.10 a.m. London, May 29. The Sunderland steamer Spennymoore has been sunk by a submarine off the Devonshire coast. The captain and five members of the crew were drowned. Two submarines chased the Argyllshire, but the steamer arrived «tiely at Havre. London, May 28. The British steamer Cate'by was torpedoed and sunk off the iWolf lighthouse. A fishing boat landed all the crew. Passengers stale that the Cateby was sunk by gunfire. THE SIIEERNESS DISASTER. Received May 31, 12.5 a.m. London, May 30. It is estimated that the Princess Irene death-roll is 270. The supposed cause is similar to the Bulwark. THE FALABA INQUIRY. London, Mav 28. At the Falaba inquiry Lord Mersey announced that fie would not give his decision til) the Lusitania inquiry had concluded. SWEDISH BARQUE SUNK. Stockholm, May 28. The Swedish barque Rosval, bound for Sunderland, timber-laden, was stopped by a German submarine, allowed to proceed, and then blown up. It is supposed she was torpedoed. The mast fell, killing two of the crew. A Dutch steamer rescued the remainder. DANISH STEAMER SUNK. Copenhagen, May 28. The Danish steamer Ely bound from England to Sundswall, was mined and sunk off Stockholm. The crew were > saved. ELDER DEMPSTER LINER SUNK, Received May 30, 3.30 p.m. London, May. 29. The submarine U24 torpedoed and sank the Elder Dempster steamer Etlii ope near Land's End. The crew took to the boats, and one boat was picked up,
