CORRESPONDENCE.
HELP FOR THE RED CROSS. (To the Editor.) Sir, —As a farmer, may I suggest through your columns to the kind consideration of the auctioneering firms that the fund to which they devote the proceeds of the sale of gift animals at every auction sale be, changed from the Belgian to the Red Cross, which is at present very badly in need of money? Even Red Cross nurses are snatching a little time to appeal to their personal friends for help. The Belgian Fund—a very worthy one, too—has completely shouldered the Red Cross to one side lately. Mrs. Luke, the Mayoress of Wellington, is appealing for even pence donations to the stationary hospitals. I think the farmers would treble their gifts to the Red Cross, for our boys' bravery at the, Dardanelles has touched every heart.—l am, etc., .......... A FARMER. ,
