ACCIDENT IN A TUNNEL.
ONE MAN KILLED; ONE INJURED. ISy Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A serious railway accident occurred at Kaikohe railway tunnel yesterday, by which Mr. Charles Betts, one of the partners to the contract, was badly injured and Peter Maloney was killed. The latter was a native of the West Coast. The cause of the accident was that one of the shoulder bars in the (t-nncl suddenly gave way, pinning the lwo men down. Both had to be dug out.
