TAUIHRI COAL COMPANY. Auckland, 'Last Night. The annual report of the Taupiri Coal 'Mines, Ltd., for the year ended March 31 shows a profit of £IOBO fov the year. To this is to be added £241!) 10s Id, the balance brought forward, making £340!) lfe Id, which the directors recommended be carried forward. In referring to the disaster by which fortythree men wei'e killed, the directors say that already compensation claims amounting to .C-2703 17s have been settled, reducing the company's accident insurance! fund to £2fl4S os' sd. Other ehiims are. to be heard by the .Supreme Court. The balance-sheet shows that the assets ( £ 148.425) exceed the liabilities, not including the compensation claims, by £3499.
