HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The High Commissioner reports under date London, 'May 10, 2.15 a.m.: — Between Nieuport and tlie sea a Ger man attack was repuls'd with important enemy losses. The British gained ground in the region of Eromelles. The Allies made marked progress north of Arras, in the direction of Loos and south of Carency, taking the latter region on a front of seven kilometres and embracing three strongly fortified trenches. The Allies took the village of Targette, half the village of Xouville St. Vaast, advancing at one point four kilometres. Two thousand prisoners and six guns were captured. • AVellington, Last Night. The Premier has received the following from the High Commissioner, datel London, oth, 11.20 p.m.: Dardanelles. —Naval officers killed, i>; wounded, 9; men killed, 12; wounded 283. Sir John French reports that on Saturday night the enemy continued the attacks east of Ypres, attacking again to-day. All were repulsed with heavy loss. This morning our first army attacked the enemy's lines between the BoisGrenier and St. Hubert, gaining ground on the south-east towards Frotilles. The fighting in this area still continues. Our airmen successfully attacked the St. Andre railway junction north of Lille and the canal. The Don bridge, Fournes, Ilerlies, lilies, Marquilles, and La Bassee were also bombed.
