ALLEGED CUSTOMS FRAUD.
ACCUSED NOT GUILTY. Christehurch, Last Night. The trial of John Alexander Meiviniion, on charges of fraud and theft in connection with the Customs fraud, was concluded to-day. Mr. S. 0. Raymond, K.C., with him Mr. A. I'\ Wright, appeared for the Crown, and Mr. C. I'. Skerrett, K.C., with him Mr. \\ r . J. Hunter, appeared for the accused. The jury, after a lengthy retirement, in the evening returned a verdict of not guilty
