The Temperance Alliance intends to urgo Parliament to agree to the six o'clock closing of hotels without waiting for the referendum. The movement has strong public support. MAP OF AUSTRALIA. Melbourne, May 5. Proof copies of the new map of Australia, which has been under compilation for four years, have drawn adverse criticism. The Geographical Societies' Journal says that it has no great merit as a geographical production, but it is useful for reference.
