MUNICIPAL CONTESTS.
PATEA. By Telegraph'.—Press Association. Patea, Last Niglit. For the mayoralty Mr. C. A. Larcombe was elected ounopposed. For the nine seats in the council the result of the contest was: —Dr. Siinmon3 £44, Messrs. A. Christensen 222, F. W. Grainger 216, F. Ramsbottom 202, B. !\ Bennett 201, L. W. May 194, C. R. Honeyfield 101, W. Beardmore 187, and T. Hicks IG7 were elected. The remaining four polled as follows:—-G. Powell 152, L. H. Wilson 140, J. P. Egan 118, and F. Spooner 00. AUCKLAND. The e'ection of Mayors resulted: — Birkenhead, ,T. P. McPhail; Otahulm, James Atkinson. CHRISTCHU'RCH. Mayoralty:—Holland 4591, Spiers (Social Democrat) 3947, Sorensen 3634. ELTIIAM. 8.. Dive 21(0, [!. H. Buckeridge 241; in. formal a. The following were elected to the council:—Messrs. C. W. Tayler, J. Phillips, J. liallantine, L. Hill, F. Amoore, R. C. D. Lighthourne, M. A. Whiteford, H. H. Judd and W. J. Tristram. The defeated candidates were: —Messrs. T. King and T. J. Bridger. MARTON. The Mayoral election resulted:—F. C. Wilson 211, R. K. Beckett 207. HASTINGS. The polling resulted as follows: Mayor: W. Hart 1295, J. T. Blake 1030. TAIHAPE. The Mayor, Mr. A. L. Arrowsmith, was returned unopposed. , OHAKUNE.
The polling for Mayor resulted: —J. A. Butler 212, T. 11. Kieley 193.
