NEW ZEALANDERS' PART. The following interesting notes from London arc sent by the New Zealand Herald's London correspondent : Lieutenant G. M. Chapman, R.A.M.C., who lias received the French decoration for saving life on the beach at Boulogne, is now serving as medical officer to the •2nd Dragoon Guards (Queen's Bays). The injury from which Dr. Chapman was sulVoriiig at the time of the incident at Boulogne was a septic finger, not a wotnui, as was slated. Tie was recommended for tho. award by the municipal authorities, of Moulogne" Dr. Chapman is a son of Mr. Justice Chapman. In recognition of meritorious services during the war, King George has been pleased to direct that a number of officers shall be appointed to the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, One. of those upon whom (lie C.M.G. lias been bestowed is Lieu-tenant-Colonel Cosmo Gordon-Stewart, D.5.0., Royal Artillery. He is the Imsbaiul of an' Auckland lady, formerly Miss Gladys lloneyman, daughter of the late. Dr. Honeyruan. Second-Lieutenant John TI. Allen, son of the Hon. .1. Allen, Kith Battalion Worcester Regiment, has been promoted firstlieuteuant, He is at present at Looe, Cornwall. Mr. J. G. Goodfcllow (Auckland and Christehurch) has been recommended for a commission in the Royal Engineers. In the recent A.M.TX'.K. examination, held throughout Great Britain, he was successful in obtaining highest marks for the examination, together with the "Bayliss prize." He was formerly a student ftt Auckland Grammar School.
