HOUSEHOLDERS' MEETINGS.
RAHOTU. (From Our Own Correspondent.) At the householders' meeting at Rahotu there were present: Messrs A. F. Chapman, P. Ward, A. D. Fielder, B. Annis, ]). Unglesca, L. Fischer, J. Williamson, J. iSchinklc, A. W. Phillips and W. Green. The balance-sheet, showing a credit balance of £3 9s Cd, was »dopted. The master reported that the number of scholars on the roll -was 75, and the average attendance i>2 per cent. The, following stood for the committee: — Messrs A. P. Chapman, T. Ward A. D.' Fielder D. Anglesea, B. Annis and S. Williamson, On a poll being taken the first iive were elected.
At the meeting of the newly-elected committee held subsequently, Mr. A. P. Chapman was chosen chairman for the ensuing year.
HURFORD. The householders' annual meeting this year was far better attended that on some previous occasions, every householder being present. As the result of a poll the following were elected to the school committee: —Messrs H. Smith, E. Walsh, (A. Wood, M. Reardon and C. Jensen. Mr. W. Adlam was also nominated.
At the subsequent meeting of the committee Mr. Smith was re-elected chairman, ami. Mr. Wood secretary and treasurer.
TARIKI. The following school committee was elected at Tariki:—Messrs J. Therkleson (chairman), D. Jones, Grossman, T. Therkleson, Gernhoefer, McElroy and Mrs. Jemison (secretary). DURHAM. At the annual meeting of hous scolders at Durham Road on MonU/ evening a good muster •: f "vcidents was present. Mr. J. A. Brilgmian was voted to the chair. The secretary (Mr. J. B. Simpson) read the yearly statement. Aftei a little discvsi'o.i, in which satisfaction was expressed at the v-pst committee's management, the re;joi b and balance-sheet were adopted. The matter of teachers residence was brought before the householders, and a ri\-o' ;tion recommending the new committee to take steps to bring the subject before the Board was unanimously carried.- 'Hie chairman and members of the ok! eom-
n.iitee received a hearty vote el thanks, on the motion of Mr. F. Ko.i£ <s. seconded by Mr. F. Corney. Nominat : ons f' r the new committee resulted in nine coming forward, the resulting ballot being in favor of Messrs'Simpson, A. Dodunski, .1. Bridgeman, Mischcwski and C. Goblo. At a meeting of the committee subsequently, Mr. J. A. Bridgeman was elected chairman and Mr. J, B. Simpson secretary. The date of meeting v/as fixed for the second Monday in the month. Tenders for firewood supply ver; considered and that of Mr. F. Corney at 30s per cord was accepted. A resolution from the householders' meeting was .Inly' considered, and action is to be taken.
LINCOLN ROAD. The following committee was elected: Messrs. G. E. Henwood (chairman), F. L. Egarr (secretary), A. J. Hopson, W. Wilson, Mrs. G. E. Henwood. CARRINGTON ROAD. The following persons were elected members of the Carriugton School Committee:—Messrs. F. Yeates (chairman), R. Gilbert, W. Waswo C. Whittle, and H. Shaw. OKATO. Only two householders, Messrs. J. Wooldridge (chairman) and W. Clark, a member of the old committee, attended at Okato on Monday evening, and the meeting lapsed.
