ANGLO-FRENCH SQUADRON, I. SIGHTED OFF NORWAY. Received April 26, 5;30 p.m. London, April 25. Scandinavian ships continue to report the presence of belligerent warships m the North Sea. It is declared that the Anglo-French squadron was sighted off Norway.
SUBMARINE OUTRAGES. London, April 25. , A submarine fired a dozen shells at the Eva and Oskar and the crews were allowed ten minutes to escape. The Bubmarine which attacked the Ruth discharged a torpedo harmlessly. The captain and five of the c ew went off in a boat, intending to i low the ship's papers, but when they v. ere at the rear of the vessel the submarine fired a second tofpedo, which struck the Ruth amidships, 'blowing up the deck. The remainder of the crew had barely time to get into a boat. The Norwegian steamer Caprivi was mined and sunk off Tory Island. The crew were landed. CAPTURED DANISH VESSEL. Amsterdam, April 25. The steamer bound for Grimsby, cabled earlier, was the Nidaros. Denmark ha/s demanded an explanation from Germany. A GERMAN SOP. Athens, April 25. ' Germany promises an and compensation if it is proved that a German submarine sank the Ellispontos. THE ELUSIVE GERMAN FLEET. Copenhagen, April 25. Leading German newspapers are triumphant at the so-called naval cruise. They declare that the fleet scoured the North Sea several timc3 trying to find the British. The papers add that if Sir John Jellicoe wants to prove that! Britannia rules the waves now is his chance. A VESSEL RELEASED. Received April 20, 9.30 p.m. Copenhagen, April 26. The Nidaros and her cargo have been released.
