ELTHAM NEWS.
ELTHAM. (Fro:'i Our Own Correspondent.) The two candidates for the Eltham Mayoralty will take the platform on Tuesday evening, when there is sure to be a good deal of interest shown. These two gentlemen are to be commended for their decision to face the ratepayers, and to ,expound the policy which each considers to be in the best interests of the progressive town of Eltham. The Eltham Co-operative Dairy Company will pay out this month nearly £BOOO for butter-fat, at 13d per lb. The HiWmians entertained the Druids at a card social in the Oddfellows' Hall on Thursday evening. The hosts proved too good, winning after a very enjoyable evening's play. Brother Davis, for the Druids, returned thanks for the hospitality extended, and promised fraternal revenge at the next gathering of the kind. Brother Kilbride briefly acknowledged the greetings.
