A CHARGE OF MURDER.
A WOMAN IN THE DOCK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, April 21. The inquest runcc-ming the death of Walter Albert West, who died on Much 5 as the result of bullet wounds indicted by Alice Parkinson in the shooting 1 affray in Napier South, was held to-day. Parkinson, who attempted to take her own life, having only just recovered sufficiently to give evidence. The statement of witnesses went to show that deceased and Parkinson had been on terms of intimacy. The woman met deceased on the evening of March 2, and they went into a vacant section, shots being heard immediately afterwards. West never recovered consciousness. The coroner returned a verdict that West died as the result of wounds intentionally inflicted by Alice Parkinson by means of a revolver. Parkinson was then charged with murder and remanded till Monday.
