ATHLETICS.
THE iPUKEKURA PARK SPORTS GROUND. Mr. ,T. Clarke, secretary of the Snorts Ground Committee, Puk'ekura Park, is calling a meeting for Wednesday night next of representatives from all athletic clubs in and around \ew Plymouth, with the idea of forming a new committee to take over the control of the ground. In a circular he is the sports organisations, he states:—The present committee through removals of its members, formation of new clulis, etc., has dwindled down to a number quite inadequate to be considered a representative committee, or to control t'lie ground. We would point out that it is quite necessary, should you wish to have any interest in the control of this ground, that your representative attend the meeting. Should this meeting lapse for want of support, it is more than probable that tha ground will revert to the board, as the present committee is not receiving sufficient support to carry on the ground. The meeting will be held in the Borough Council Chambers on Wednesday, April 21, and before concluding I would impress upon you the importance of being represented.
