HOW TO END THE WAR. TELL THE TRUTH TO THE GERMAN PEOPLE. WHO WILL THEN CRUSH MILITARISM. Received April 10, 9.30 p.m. New York, April li>. The views of a number of prominent Englishmen regarding the prospects of peace liave been obtained. Mr. Annan Bryce believes that a final settlement will hinge mainly on the nation of the Uerman people themselves. He speculates on their chances under defeat or by a revolt against the military caste set up by the uoiit'i\zol!enis, a»HI believes that if the people could obtain control of their own destinies the Allies might be content with comparatively easy terms. In the absence of such conditions, and if the Hohenzollerns are to remain in power, the only course open to the Allies is to cripple them by crushing indemnities, (locking them <~S every province in which there is any considerable pan-German element, razing the fortresses, and the expropriation ot the fleet.
Sir Charles Wolstein emphasises fin I the final overthrow of the militaristic party will require the penetration to Germany of the truth concerning ; l i>> war, when the people themselves' will break the power of militarism. Dean Inge declares that it is unlikely the Allies will accept a draw. Ilis countrymen had one object only in view, besides compensation to Belgium, France and Poland, namely, security against another wanton breach of peace.
