The three boys, Jones, Do Cossey, and Carson, who disappeared from Levin, were found by the police at the People's Palace in Auckland. They had £8 when they arrived here on Friday, but have since spent their cash in reckless fashion. MORE MEAT SHIPS WANTED. Wellington, April 14. A conference of the New Zealand Allied Freezing Works and Allied Trades Federation passed a motion that it views with alarm the position created by the lack of shipping arrangements for frozen meat, and urges the Government to make, every effort to arrange for shipping to relieve the works which have failed to secure a fair share of shipping space.

A SKRIOUS CHARGE. Christchurch, April 14. In the Magistrate's Court to-day Bertram Bonn was charged with attempting to procure abortion. He was committed for trial at the Supreme Court. Bail was renewed in a sum of £OOO. A plea of not guilty was entered.

A PUBLTC WORK. Wanganui, April It. Mr. W. S. Short is sitting as a ;:ommission to apportion the cost of the Taylorville bank protection work amongst the local bodies, all of which are objectiner to the estimated cost of the work, £11,250.
